Le Roost Lorane B&B closed July 20, 2008, and is no longer hosting open houses or events. We continue to enjoy Le Roost Lorane as our family home.
Why Le Roost Lorane has a Red Roof:
The Red Topped Wagon Train was so named because the tops of
the wagons were covered with red oil cloth instead of white canvas. The trail guide,
knowing Indians were attracted to bright colors, suggested that when the train
came to a tribe of Indians, the leader
of the wagons should give the Chief of the tribe a piece of the red oil cloth as a sign of friendship, and
then the Chief would let the train go through his country without any trouble.
